Objectives: Evaluate the outcomes and impact of various activities undertaken by BHEL Trichy as part of their CSR activity.

The assignment covered 29 CSR activities undertaken by BHEL-PSSR during the year 2010-2014.
These CSR activities were spread across different geographies namely in Tamil Nadu (Chennai, Tuticorin and Coimbatore), Andhra Pradesh (Nellore & Vizag), Telangana (Khammam), Odisha (Monnet, Angul Dt.), Karnataka (Raichur and Bellary) and Madhya Pradesh.
The impact of the CSR projects were evaluated using five parameters that are outlined in the Department of Public Enterprises, GoI (DPE) guidelines and the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) guidelines of OECD on corporate good governance.
The assessment involved review of documents and reports shared by BHEL regarding the CSR policy and the projects
The field assessment undertaken by the staff involved focus group discussions with the beneficiaries and implementing agencies and interviews with key respondents and stakeholders
Meeting with BHEL officials, both at field and head office was undertaken to get the perspectives
